ADAPTIT CONTRACTED THE APIS PROJECT FOR THE GREEK MINISTRY OF CITIZEN PROTECTION

ADAPTIT  contracted the project for the supply of “Advanced Passenger Information System (APIS) and the provision of its maintenance services for the years 2027, 2028 and 2029” through a competitive tender process by the Greek Ministry of Citizen Protection.

The project includes the development and operation of an integrated API System, to carry out on behalf of the Greek Police the pre-screening stage of passengers travelling from airports of countries outside Schengen.

API messages contain the details of passenger’s travel document, the passenger’s details and the flight information (airport of arrival, flight number, date and time of departure and arrival, total number of passengers and boarding airport).

Greek APIS is a significant program for the Law Enforcement Agencies, which will significantly contribute to increase the level of security, using the appropriate information. The work of passport & immigration control Officers will also be facilitated, as passengers’ API data can be automatically matched to international and national databases (“Security Searches”) and provided in digital form.

In more detail, with the operation of the system the following actions will be performed:

– The collection of API messages and the schedule of flights from third countries.

– Decoding and database storage of API messages and the arrival schedule.

– Performing “security searches”.

– The export of statistics.

The value of the project amounts to more than 1m €.
