IPTV LIVE CHANNELS MONITORING

Due to lack of monitoring live streams of an IPTV service, the service provider asked for a monitoring system to detect and acknowledge a failure on a live stream and at the same time increase the visibility on the service and minimizing the time of reaction from the responsible teams in case of failure.

The offered solution taps into video and measure the right quality metrics at each point in the video chain. IQ solution provides an infrastructure consisting of mainly three elements.
These are:

• An Inspector Live which is used for monitoring on the content level (audio and video) of the streams produced within IPTV Headend by IRDs and
  encoders.
• A surveyor TS which is a probe connected to the output of MediaRoom platform and monitors the encrypted streams on Transport level.
• An iVMS which is connected to both Inspector and Surveyor and used for Alarm correlation, performance and reporting purposes.

The solution is capable to provide fully customizable views, operation and configuration of equipment.

Key features:

• Different monitoring templates may be configured to fit all type of streams (HD, SD, Linear, PiP,
  OTT Profiles).
• Linear stream flows may be added for monitoring (linear, PiP, IRD).
• OTT profiles may be also added for monitoring (SD x OTT profiles, HD x OTT profiles).
• Monitoring schedules may be configured to avoid faulty alarms on some channels that broadcast
  static cards.
