Job Overview
The Bid Manager will assemble a bid team with the relevant service / product / business
knowledge required to prepare a winning bid, whilst taking ownership of the end-to-end bid
process to Calls for Tenders, concerning High-Tech solutions, ICT services and Network
architecture solutions for customers’ requirements. The Bid Manager is typically responsible for
managing an opportunity from qualification through to contract award, including value
proposition / strategy development, solution development, commercial considerations, partner
identification, and risk management. Responsibilities include the introduction and
implementation of all necessary presales & bid procedures, governance, and methodology. This
is a highly networked role that requires an ability to work under pressure and to challenging
deadlines. It will require strong people management and commercial skills.
General requirements
Proven capability in delivering winning, large scale & complex services & project opportunities.
Ideally to have a background in solutions and services and experience of bid campaign
management from opportunity identification through to project delivery, providing valuable input
into opportunity qualification, win strategies, commercial discussions, and solution design.
Must be comfortable in working at CXO / Director Level (internal and external customers). Will be
fully conversant with the competitive marketplace. Sound commercial understanding, P&L and
risk management skills. Have the ability to manage complex, multi-workstream opportunities.
Solid understanding and implementation of internal governance procedures.
Main Job-responsibilities
• Responsible for administration day to day operation the bid process (receive messages, check
for new messages / RFPs)
• Manage virtual bid teams and inputs from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving
contributions from sales, marketing, product teams, finance, commercial, legal and delivery
• Organizes all necessary meetings with stakeholders of each Tender
• Gatekeeper of the timeline of the tender submission process and coordinate the tender’s
team
• Must be able to articulate the company’s technology and product portfolio for the successful
bid submission, providing both the technical and financial (P&L) insights and documentation
• Evaluates technical requirements and inform Sales and Bid Sponsor if those requirements are
/ can be met
• Involves all resources in order to prepare the technical proposal
• Ensure there is a common understanding of service expectations and solutions, both with
customers and products
• Constantly build market & customer intelligence in the respective sector
• Provides all necessary data for the business case or project’s P&L
• Risk tracking and management throughout the bid process
• Contributing to the written proposal – both in terms of content and presentation (such as
preparation of a management summary)
• Ensure timely delivery of compliant and commercially sound bids
• Prepares both technical and financial response to the tender and collect all the
documentation; ensure that the documentation is complete
• Must be an excellent communicator
Required skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer or Electronic Engineering
• At least 5 years of professional experience in Telecoms and/or IT in similar role
• 5-7 years’ experience in Government & Private Sector Bidding/Tender Management
• Solutions design of and technical writing skills
• Very good PC handling knowledge (Excel, Word & Internet)
• Fluent in English language (both verbal & written)
• Completed military service for male candidates
Preferred Skills/Competencies
• Master’s degree in a business-related area in IT and/or Telecoms would be considered as an
asset
• Specialization in the IT-telecommunication (ICT) sector will be considered as a plus
• Knowledge of Data Networking, Internet and Telephony technologies
• Self-motivated & Customer-oriented
• Ability to negotiate and understanding of customer needs
• Strong Communication, selling, presentation and influencing skills and team working
• Project management skills
